UPDATE: August 25. People is reporting that the Brady-Moynahan baby is named Jonathan. The name was announced last night at a Patriot’s game in Charlotte, N.C.

CelebrityPregnancy.com is reporting that the baby is called William. The Boston Herald begs to differ, claiming their ‘maternity ward spies’ (is that a real job?) have uncovered the little guy’s name, and it’s Jonathan. But don’t be collecting on those bets just yet. Another celebrity baby blog is reporting (in their third update on the 48 hour-old story) that his name is John.

John From Cincinnati, maybe?

Young Master Moynahan, as we’re referring to him for now, is the offspring, in case you’ve been on Mars, of actress Bridget Moynahan, and her former boyfriend, New England Patriot’s quarterback, Tom Brady.

Brady, who is now dating supermodel Gisele Bundchen, split from Ms. Moynahan shortly after conception, as best I can tell.

It’s not exactly Dreiser’s American Tragedy, but you have to feel a little sorry for Moynahan, here. You don’t need a magnifying glass to read between the lines.

But taking a leaf from Spice Girl Mel Brown’s playbook, Moynahan had no hesitation in naming the father, back in February, when she announced her pregnancy.

It appears the news took Brady by surprise, although he didn’t deny it. A friend of the football star told US Magazine that Brady felt Moynahan was trying to make him ”look like a jerk,” by announcing it publicly. Maybe he’d prefer if she’d quietly left the country.

But back to celebrity baby names. For now, we don’t have one for this little guy. So I’m going to sit back and let the other gossip sites embarrass themselves. We believe in accuracy around here. And until Master Moynahan’s real name is officially released, either on Brady’s bio page on the Patriot’s site, or on this Bridget Moynahan fan site, or preferably both, I’m saying nothing more about it.

Except — what does Gisele Bundchen, the world’s highest paid model, and former girlfriend of Leonardo Dicaprio, think about all this? I bet she’s not lovin’ it…
