Access Hollywood is reporting that Matt Damon and his wife Luciana are expecting a second child.

Damon, 37, and his wife Luciana, 32, have two children — their daughter Isabella was born in 2006, and Luciana has a 9 year-old daughter named Alexia, from a previous marriage.

No word yet on the due date, or the gender of the baby.

“Isabella”

 

Not every celebrity baby name is strange, unusual, or crazy. Here’s one that proves the point: Matt Damon’s and Luciana Barroso’s daughter, born in June of 2006, named Isabella. The name Isabella is not only a traditional, and beautiful name. It is one of the hottest names of the year, ranking at # 6 in the United States in 2005. I’m picking it to displace the # 1 girl’s name, Emily, within two years. Isabella came out of nowhere in 1990, when it broke into the top thousand names in the US. In the intervening decade and a half it has shot up the rankings like a rocket. Now with Matt Damon’s “endorsement,” look for this name to reach number one.

Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso welcomed their new daughter into the world on June 11, and named her Isabella. There’s not a great deal I can say about the name Isabella. For a celebrity naming, it’s pretty tame. Maybe I was on to something when I mentioned that Mira Sorvino was starting a “plain name” trend in Hollywood when she named her son Johnny. Or as Freud said, sometimes a name is just a name.
