Celebrity Pregnancies — Confirmations, Rumors, And Wishful Thinking

CONFIRMED: Baby Mama star Amy Poehler, 36, and her husband, actor Will Arnett, 37, are expecting their first child together. The baby is due sometime this fall.

CONFIRMED: One of the icons of the celebrity baby names world is Pilot Inspektor, the four-year-old son of actors Jason Lee and Beth Riesgraf (now Splitsville). Lee’s new girlfriend, Ceren Alkac, is expecting a baby in the fall. It’s the first child for the couple. How on earth are they going to find a name that can hold its own against Pilot Inspektor? UPDATE: May 9. People reports that Lee and Alkac are expecting a girl.

“Pilot Inspektor”

You wouldn’t think, just from looking at them, that actor Jason Lee and fiancee Beth Riesgraf would give their child one of the oddest, most talked-about celebrity baby names ever. But that’s just what they did. jason lee photorazzi

Their son, born September 28, 2003, is named Pilot Inspektor. According to Lee’s bio on Wikipedia, and other sources, they named their son Pilot because of the song He’s Simple, He’s Dumb, He’s the Pilot, by the American rock group Grandaddy. And apparently they just liked the name Inspektor. Ohhhkaaay.

Nothing wrong with liking a song. But how about sparing a thought for the little guy who has to grow up with this moniker? Then again, maybe it’s a Scientology thing, which both Lee and Riesgraf are into. But think about this: would Scientology have become as big as it has if the founder had been named Pilot Inspektor Hubbard?
