Celebrity Baby Names Roundup
After a drought of new celebrity babies, it has been a busy week for new famous little offspring!
NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon and his wife Ingrid Vandebosch, seen here with daughter Ella Sofia, added to their family with the arrival of a son, Leo Benjamin, on August 9. As he did with the arrival of his daughter Ella Sofia several years ago, Gordon combined the online birth announcement with his upcoming racing schedule.
Meanwhile, comedian Amy Poehler and husband Will Arnett went for a biblical name, Abel James, for their son, born August 6. Abel joins big brother Archie at home, which means they’ve got a lot of “A” names in their household: Amy, Archie, and Abel.
On August 8, actress Annie Wersching, star of 24, gave birth to her first child, a boy, in Los Angeles. The baby’s name is Freddie. Wersching, 33, and husband Stephen Full, were married in September, 2009.
Country singer Luke Bryan, 34, and wife Caroline, 30, welcomed a second son yesterday, and, interestingly, gave him what is traditionally viewed as a girl’s name. They called him Tatum Christopher. Maybe the name Tatum will become more of a unisex baby name now that such a high profile boy bears the name.
Finally, among the pregnancies announced recently, are British singer Lily Allen; singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette, and Penny Lancaster, wife of 65 year-old Rod Stewart.
