T.V.’s Amy Acker Welcomes A Baby Girl
Whenever I lead with a headline like that — so-and-so “welcomes a baby girl,” I am either feeling too uncaffeinated to come up with anything better, or the story really doesn’t merit anything better. As much as possible, I try to avoid that “welcomes a baby” headline, which reeks of a lazy writer mentally yelling “cue the celebrity birth headline!” This morning, however, I’ve had my coffee. Fact is, the story doesn’t merit anything more compelling.
Amy Acker, moderately well-known T.V. star, (Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Alias) and her husband, James Carpinello, have just had a daughter. Her name is Ava Grace. According to People Magazine, when asked about the event, Amy Acker’s rep gushed  ”Amy, James and Jackson are enjoying the new addition to their family.” Wow. Sounds like they just got a pet gerbil. I’m glad Amy and James are having so much fun. They’ve earned it. They just welcomed a baby girl into the world. Yawn.
