Flower Power Coming To Celebrity Baby Names

Ugly Betty star Rebecca Romijn, and actor-husband Jerry O’Connell, combined tradition with cutting edge fashion in the names they chose for their twin girls, born December 28.

Newborns Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip got their names through the time-honored tradition of naming babies after family members or other friends. And the added twist comes from naming a daughter Charlie.

Romijn and O’Connell (Stand by Me; Sliders) sidestepped convention and honored O’Connell’s brother Charlie (The Bachelor) by naming one of the girls Charlie (a bona fide unisex baby name); they gave a nod to Dolly Parton by naming one girl Dolly; Rebecca is obviously for mom, and Tamara is mom’s sister.

And to add a little icing to the cake, the first-time parents tagged each child with a floral baby name, Rose and Tulip. Very refreshing!
