Everyone seems to be blogging about the impact that Britney Spears naming her son Jayden has had on the popularity of that name. In a new report from the New York City Health Department, Jayden is now the second most popular boy’s name in New York, and the # 1 boy’s name among black and Hispanic parents. And it only broke into New York’s top ten last year.

No question but Britney put the name on the map, although it was on the rise even before she named her son Jayden James about two years ago.

But what hasn’t been reported til right now is that Jayden is also one of the most popular unisex names in America, according to a new study on unisex baby names. It ranks 5th in the nation in popularity for unisex names. And it’s not just Jayden that qualifies as unisex. Four other variants of the name, including Jaden, Jadyn, Jaiden, and Jaidyn, are also among America’s most popular unisex names. In fact no other unisex baby name has as many variations as Jayden. Or Jaiden. Whatever. The fact is, the J name can be enjoyed by all babies, girls and boys.

It’s an equal opportunity celebrity baby name.

CONFIRMED: Singer Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley will be looking for a new baby name to match William Huckleberry, which caused quite a stir when they chose it for for their first baby, early last year. The couple are expecting their second.

CONFIRMED: From X-Files to Odd Couple? X-Files actress Gillian Anderson, and her boyfriend Mark Griffiths, welcomed a second son, Felix, on October 15. They also have a one-year-old son named Oscar.

CONFIRMED: Actress Lisa Bonet is expecting her third child in a couple of months. She also has a 14-month old daughter with boyfriend Jason Momoa, and a 19-year-old daughter from a previous relationship with Lenny Kravitz.

CONFIRMED: Kevin Costner isn’t letting his age slow him down. The 53 year-old actor is expecting his second child with wife Christine, 34, who he married in 2004. Their son Cayden Wyatt was born last year.

CONFIRMED: Rapper Lil Wayne is expecting a child any minute now, according to People. He just announced at the BET Hip-Hop awards that he is expecting his first son.

Lisa Marie Presley, and husband Michael Lockwood, have announced the names of the their newborn twin daughters, according to People. The girls, who were born October 7, are named Finley and Harper. The twins are the first children for Presley, 40, and Lockwood, 47.

Finley is an Irish name meaning ‘white’ or ‘fair’ warrior, and is usually given to a boy. Harper is an old English name meaning ‘harp player,’ and it’s considered a ‘unisex’ name. Harper has been showing up a lot this year on the celebrity baby name circuit — Dixie Chicks singer Martie Maguire named her daughter Harper Rosie, while actress Laura Allen named her son Harper Edward. Harper is also a name that Freakonomics authors Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner predicted will be a top baby name by 2015.

When it comes to baby names, Lisa Marie Presley is up there with the trend-setters.

In other celebrity baby names news, country music star Dierks Bentley, 32, and his wife Cassidy, 33, welcomed their first child, a daughter, in Nashville on October 4. The girl is named Evalyn Day — after her maternal grandmother (at least the Evalyn part).

Meanwhile, Paris Bennett of American Idol fame (Princess P) welcomed a daughter on October 6. Her name is Egypt. Bennett’s family said the baby’s father wishes to stay out of the public eye. Can’t say I blame him!

CONFIRMED: Grammy-winning R & B singer ‘Babyface’ Edmonds, and girlfriend Nicole Pantenburg, welcomed a real baby face to the family, with the birth of their first child, a daughter, on September 9. The new arrival is named Peyton Nicole.

CONFIRMED: Talk show host Byron Allen, and his wife, producer Jennifer Lucas, also welcomed a first born, with the arrival of daughter Chloe Ava on August 22 in Los Angeles.

RUMORED: According to People, British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, and his wife Jools, are expecting their third child. The couple already have two daughters with well-known celebrity baby names — Poppy, 6, and Daisy, 5. Oliver is the star of the cooking show The Naked Chef, and a prominent advocate for improving the quality and nutrition of the food served in British schools.

CONFIRMED: Actress Joely Fisher, shown here, and husband Christopher Duddy, have adopted a baby girl named Olivia Luna. Fisher and Duddy are a couple known for creative baby names — Olivia joins sisters True Harlow, 2, and Skylar Grace, 7.

CONFIRMED: A first child for actress Marisol Nichols, and husband, director Taron Lexton. Daughter Rain India was born on September 30.
