CONFIRMED: British singer Charlotte Church, and her boyfriend, Welsh international rugby player Gavin Henson, are expecting a second child, according to a post on Church’s blog. Incidentally, it’s the first time her blog has been updated since the birth of their daughter, Ruby Megan, last September, so that makes me feel better about the times I have missed a deadline.

CONFIRMED: The host of NBC’s reality show The Biggest Loser, Alison Sweeney, 31, shown here with three-year-old son Ben, is pregnant with her second child. Sweeney, and husband David Sanov, a California Highway Patrol officer, married in 2000.

CONFIRMED: Amy Jo Johnson, 37, who began her T.V. career as the Pink Ranger in Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, and her fiance, Olivier Giner, are expecting a child in late fall. Johnson also starred in The WB’s series Felicity, and is working on an upcoming CBS show, Flashpoint, while she pregnant.

Does Sir Mick know about this?

Rascal Flatts guitarist Joe Don Rooney, and his wife Tiffany Fallon, welcomed a baby boy on May 31, and promptly named him Jagger Donovan Rooney.

Here’s the kicker — this is the fourth time in less than a year that a celebrity couple have chosen Jagger as a baby name. In the small, tightly-knit world of celebrity baby naming, that’s a trend. A hot trend. Does Mick know about this yet?

A quick check of the celebrity baby name list at Baby Names Garden, (which is by far the best online archive for celeb baby names), shows that back in March, former Punky Brewster star Soleil Moon Frye, and her husband, MTV producer Jason Goldberg, named their daughter Jagger Joseph Blue.

Jagger was also chosen by tennis Grand Slam champion Lindsay Davenport for her son Jonathan last summer. And in another obvious tribute to Sir Mick, the name Jagger Song, which belongs to the son of former Fuel vocalist Brett Scallions and MTV veejay Abby Gennet, born last September, made number 5 on our 2007 Ten Most Notable Celebrity Baby Names List.

Put it all together, and there’s no doubt that trend-setting celebrities are possibly giving Mick Jagger the one thing that money couldn’t buy: immortality.

CONFIRMED: Michelle Monaghan, left, star of Mission Impossible 3 and Made of Honor, and her husband, Peter White, are expecting their first child in late fall.

CONFIRMED: A second child is on the way for X-files star Gillian Anderson and boyfriend Mark Griffiths.

CONFIRMED: When we posted about it back in April, it was just a rumor, but now it’s confirmed that actor/director Mark Wahlberg, 37, and girlfriend Rhea Durham, 29, are expecting their third child. Already at home are Ella, 4, and Michael, 2.

Star Magazine seems to be the first one to report that Tori Spelling gave birth to a baby girl on June 9.

Spelling, 35, and husband Dean McDermott, 41, have gone totally retro with the baby name: Stella Doreen. How can you hear the name Stella without hearing Brando screaming “Stella!” in A Streetcar Named Desire?

The name Doreen is so retro it hasn’t been in the list of Top 1000 Most Popular Baby Names since 1979.

Seriously, I don’t think Doreen is going to make a comeback. On the other hand, Stella has been increasingly popular in the last decade, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see it get a boost from the Spelling spillover effect.

Jessica Alba’s baby girl has arrived — and it’s confirmed that her name is Honor Marie.

Alba, 27, and new husband Cash Warren, 31, welcomed their daughter on June 7 in Los Angeles. The couple were married on May 19.

We blogged back in April that there was a rumor that Alba and Warren would choose the name Honor. The rumor was based on reports that a friend of Alba had purchased an engraved I.D. bracelet for Alba’s baby shower, bearing the name ‘Honor.’ Just like in a similar situation involving Jennifer Lopez and a baby bracelet, it turns out the rumor was true.

Moral of the story: celebs, if you want to keep the name of your upcoming baby a secret, tell your friends and family to nix the engraved gifts!

I knew that Angelina Jolie’s twins’ baby names had to be in there somewhere!

By now, everyone knows that last week’s report broadcast on Entertainment Tonight, claiming that Angelina Jolie had given birth in France, was false.

In a story on CNN today, the nightly entertainment show is revealed to have been suckered into running the story, based on email messages sent by someone impersonating Jolie’s assistant. Oops! Furthermore, the CNN story says that E.T. knew the story was fake. (I don’t quite get the logic there, if that’s true).

Anyway, one interesting tidbit in the CNN story is that:

“Even before the Entertainment Tonight report, there were international rumors of the twins’ birth, possibly started by an OK! magazine story that did not report the babies were born, but speculated on possible names.” (emphasis mine).

I wonder if the journalists at OK! magazine may have seen my speculation about Jolie’s baby names? Is that what started all this? I posted back in February that I’m guessing Jolie and Pitt will go with Irish names this time around — and I’m sticking with that guess!

Time for a guess-athon!

This time around, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are keeping the whole world guessing.

We know the family is in France, and US Magazine, along with other celebrity news outlets, was reporting last Friday that Angelina Jolie’s twins had arrived. Furthermore, US reported that the twins’ names are Isla (pronounced eye-la) Marcheline and Amelie Jane.

Not so fast, says Brad Pitt’s manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante, who told The Associated Press: “We have no comment except the story is not true.”

So has she or hasn’t she? Who knows! Maybe she has, maybe she hasn’t. The media is so revved up for this celebrity birth that if Jolie hiccups it may start a delivery rumor.

Fact is, we just don’t know. Yet. And that’s as good a reason as any to play “Guess the names of Angelina Jolie’s twins”!

So what do you think? Who thinks the baby girls are (or will be) named Isla Marcheline and Amelie Jane? I don’t think so. From the couple who brought us Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh-Nouvel? Doesn’t have the right ring. Then again, that’s what celebrity baby names are all about — the unexpected!

Join the fun and guess the names of Angelina’s twins. Like I said in my last post, I’m predicting that Jolie and Pitt will go for Irish baby names. And I’m going to stick with that guess.

CORRECTION: It has now been revealed that Jack Black’s new baby’s name is not Jack, but rather it’s Thomas David. Apparently Jack Black’s real first name is Thomas, so when the family said the baby was named after Jack Black, they meant ‘Thomas.’

In almost total secrecy, Jack Black and his wife Tanya Haden welcomed their second son last week, and only in the last day or so did word leak out that the new baby is named Jack.

Maybe Black felt it was time to keep quiet about babies, since at Cannes two weeks earlier he inadvertently announced to the world that Angelina Jolie is pregnant.

Little Jack Black joins big brother Samuel, who is now two years old.
