Will Matthew McConaughey Choose A Beer Name For A Baby Name?
In a move that you would expect from a bunch of frat brothers circa Animal House, Matthew McConaughey is said to be in favor of naming his upcoming son, expected in July, after his favorite beer.
Fortunately for the kid, McConaughey’s favorite brew is not St. Pauli Girl.
UPDATE: McConaughey and Alves welcomed a son on July 7 — and named him Levi. Sanity prevailed.
The high-testosterone star apparently loves to chug a Budweiser now and then, so his name of choice for the baby is Bud. It’s reported that his older brother Michael named his second son Miller Lyte, so there is a real family tradition here.
On the upside, mom-to-be Camila Alves, a Brazilian model, is apparently not enamoured of the “Suds r Us” school of baby names. She is said to be averse to the choice, and will be pushing for a more traditional name.

Well, it’s a terrible idea, of course.
But what worries me more is that his favorite beer is Budweiser?? Really?
