Jennifer Lopez Baby Names - Is It Max and Emme?
UPDATE: February 29. Confirmed! J.Lo’s twins are named Max and Emme!
UPDATE: February 25. It’s now Monday morning, and Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have still not officially released the names of the twins. As some of you have commented, the names Max and Emme are almost identical to the names of two Hispanic kids on PBS Dragon Tales. (The only difference is that the girl in the show spells Emmy with a “Y”). What gives? I can’t believe it’s a coincidence. Are Lopez and Anthony big Dragon Tales fans? Or is the whole rumor about “Max and Emme” built on shaky ground? I think it’s the latter, and I think in the next day or so we’ll hear the twins are named something entirely different.UPDATE: February 23. It’s Saturday morning, the twins are more than a day old, and their names have still not been released to the media. The blogosphere is going crazy with curiosity. Our own poll (panel at left) shows a polarity of opinion on the names Max and Emme — equal numbers loving the names and hating the names, with fewer people split on the two. And in case you missed it, baby names book author Pamela Redmond Satran made a blatant pitch to JLo in the Huffington Post earlier this month, trashing the names Max and Emme and urging Lopez to call her! She even offers to send her “the brand new edition of Cool Baby Names for free.” Wow, nice offer! That’s a saving of $9.95, JLo! But seriously folks, this one is hot. I haven’t seen this much fervor over a celebrity baby name since Shiloh Nouvel.
POSTED: February 22. The twins have finally arrived for Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony — born early this morning, February 22, during a snowstorm on Long Island, New York.The babies are the first for Lopez, 38, and the fourth and fifth for Marc Anthony, 39.
But the big question, so far unanswered, is what the twins will be named. We blogged a few weeks ago about Jennifer Lopez’s baby names, when the rumor was going around that the boy will be named Max and the daughter named Emme. But so far, that has not been confirmed. Stay tuned for details — as soon as we know the names for sure, we’ll be posting the news!
JLo and Anthony were married in June, 2004. They announced their pregnancy in a well-hyped media event during a Miami concert on November 8.

I think the girls name should be Jeselena and the boys name should be Mateo
Does it really matter what they are going to name the twins?? Leave them alone. Naming of children should be left up to Mom and Dad regardless if they are CELEBRITIES or NOT!
Max and Emme are the names of the two hispanic kids on PBS’ Dragon Tales… I doubt that they chose those names. Unless of course they are HUGE fans of Dragon Tales and PBS!!

They should name their children whatever they want. They have tried a long time for these babies! I also struggle with infertility, so I am very happy for them!
I think the names are cute- but they are also the names of the characters on the PBS kids show “Dragon Tales”.
i agree with AMKelly they should be able to name there kids what ever they want to name them and nobody should tell them differtly!!

i like the names but to me there to common celebs have different unique names so i like that there names are not like that Emme is a strong nice girly name and Max is a tom boy rough manly name ..

Editor’s Note: The rumor about the Max and Emme names began several weeks ago, when J.Lo’s mother was spotted purchasing gold identity bracelets, engraved with the names “Max” and “Emme.” You can read all about it here. The rumor may be wrong, but it isn’t racist, it’s just your typical celeb gossip.
I think if you seriously don’t care what the names will be, why are you on this site? Isn’t that the whole point of this blog?
I love JLo, she is beautiful and I’m sure her little babies that she has yearned for are too, I know that she and Marc will pick great names whatever they may be. God Bless Marc & JLo and those little bundles of joy!

Max is cute, as a nickname for Maxwell. Emme is hideous though, and she’ll be one of many Emily’s, Emmy’s, Emma’s, and other variants of the name that is so awful popular here. I’d rather see another Harlow or Apple than another ‘Em’ name.

First of all, Congratulations Jennifer and Mark Anthony on your baby twins. I think they should not have to worry about what other people think, in naming their twins. Whatever they decide, it will be their choice and no one else.

I absolutely cannot stand the name !Max! It’s hideous. I know a few people who named their dogs Max. It’s a dogs name! I’m waiting for another dumb celebrity to name there baby Rover!

I think the names Emme and Max are completely adorable…who cares if they are the same from Dragon Tales, thats a cute show as well. Let them be.
I adore the name Max! I named my son Max almost a year ago. I am a little nervous about the handful of celebrities who just chose this name, though… J-LO, Christina Aguilera, Trista Sutter (Bachelorette).. I am just hoping the name doesn’t become too popular. I don’t want my son to be in class with 10 other Max’s!
The name Max is a huge joke around our house. When I had my first children, a set of identical twin boys over five years ago, my husband and I got in the biggest argument about names. Harrison is a family name on both sides, so that was a given for one of our sons. The other’s first name was to be Oliver. I wanted the boys to have short and simple middle names- Max and Jack, respectively. My husband hated both of these and in the end he won and our son’s names are Harrison Amadeus and Oliver Night. My mother-in-law calls them Max and Jack… something we always giggle about on the way home from Gramma and Poppy’s house.
The baby names are cute. I think they picked perfect names.
I love the names Max and Emme! Max is such a hot, strong, trendy name for a boy. Emme is such an elegant & classy name for a girl. The names are beautiful, and if J-Lo and Marc Anthony want to give those names to their babies, we should all be happy for them.
Ithink that the names Max and Emme r so cute. But I would prefer Chris and Zoe. But that is just my opinion. I am just happy that she had them healthy and I am also happy for her decision.

I heard that they picked those names, because Max and Emmy were the first well-known Hispanic cartoon characters. Dunno if this is true or not, but you gotta admit, Max and Emme is better than Dora and Diego.
