It’s A Baby Boy For Mr. Big
Actor Chris Noth, probably forever typecast as “Mr. Big,” Carrie Bradshaw’s enduring love interest in Sex and the City, is the proud new father of a baby boy.
Noth’s longtime girlfriend, actress Tara Wilson, gave birth to their first child together on January 18 in Los Angeles. The couple met while she was working at his bar, The Cutting Room, in New York City.
And thanks to Mr. Big, things are finally starting to look up for the 2008 roster of celebrity baby names. The couple named their newborn Orion Christopher, a dramatic change from the recent spate of safe, traditional baby names chosen by celebrities.

Orion Noth sort of runs together strangely… Oh well. Congrats to them!
Just having read about baby girl “Harlow Winter Madden”, I’m a bit skeptical about the spate of “safe, traditional” names.
Orion is a stellar choice (pun intended), and certain to stand out. Christopher is rather traditional, though, especially with the meaning “bearer of Christ”, which has religious overtones.
I feel for celebrity parents, who bear the burden of the public’s discussion and criticism of their every move. It’s hard enough as a new parent to choose a good name for a kid that even the relatives will all approve of. *grin*
I really like their choice! Orion is different but also has the sound of the name “Ryan” within it. Very cute.
