Grand Slam Champion Lindsay Davenport Welcomes Baby Boy
Three-time Grand Slam tennis champion Lindsay Davenport, and her husband, former All-American tennis player Jonathan Leach, welcomed their first child, a boy, on June 10. The new baby is named Jagger Jonathan.
I know. You can hear him getting called “J.J.” already.
Davenport, known to tennis fans as “The Dav,” who retired last year, was a winner of the 1998 U.S. Open, Wimbledon in 1999, and the Australian Open in 2000. She is also an Olympics gold medal winner, and was ranked the world’s # 1 female tennis player several times.
Now how about that “Jagger?” You may have jumped, like Jumpin’ Jackflash, to the conclusion that it is in honor of Mick Jagger. And it may well be. But it’s also not unheard of in its own right. Jagger is an Old English name, and it originally meant a “cutter,” and also a “peddler.” If you know why Dav and Leach chose Jagger, let me know!

Thanks for the link! God Bless.
If he IS named after Mick Jagger, it won’t cause him much embarassment, because by the time he’s a teenager, none of his own age group will know who the hell Mick Jagger was!
