What Will Julia Roberts Name Her Baby?

Julia Roberts is expected to give birth to her third child sometime around late June. What on earth will she name her son or daughter?
It’s going to be tough to come up with a name that holds its own with the twins, born in November, 2004, to Roberts, and her cinematographer husband Danny Moder. The twins are named Hazel and Phinnaeus.
The name Hazel is okay, if a little dated. The name Phinnaeus is a different story. It is truly old-fashioned, if not archaic. For more details on the history of the name, see our earlier post.
It’s going to be very interesting to see what Roberts and Moder can come up with.

I hope it is something not common, but not too weird. Hazel is such a name. Maybe something like Zebediah Victor or something if it is a boy or Mahalia if it’s girl.
I think it was pretty smart to name the two “Hazel Patricia” and “Phinnaeus Walter”. So later the kids can decide whether to go with their unusual or traditional name. i.e. if one of the two decides to follow mum into show business, they might be glad that they have an easy-to-google name. If they choose to hide from the public, they’d have a common name which makes them harder to spy out.
I agree. Giving them plain middle names and not so common first names gives them options. I suggest, if it’s a girl, Sadie Winona. If it’s a boy, I suggest Izaiah.
I agree. I think it was smart to give a not-so-common first name and a plain middle name — that gives the children more options. For a girl, I suggest Sadie Winona. For a boy, I suggest Izaiah Julius
