Brad Paisley Baby Name Announced
UPDATE: Brad Paisley’s new son named Jasper Warren.
UPDATE: 4/20/09 Latest news about the newest Paisley baby, born April 17, 2009.
This just in — Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, whose son was born on February 22 in Nashville, have announced the name of their newborn: William Huckleberry Paisley, according to Net Music Countdown.
For the record, Paisley grew up in a sort of Huck Finn timewarp on the banks of the Ohio River, in the tiny hamlet of Glen Dale, West Virginia. (I can almost hear Tom and Becky calling, as I write this). The country boy started playing guitar at his grandfather’s knee, and got his first break, at age 12, appearing on the well-known Jamboree USA radio show on WWVA, the big country music station out of Wheeling, West Virginia.
So I guess Huckleberry is a natural as far as Brad is concerned.
Now about that first name, William. In case you didn’t know, Kimberly Williams was not born in West Virginia. She’s from Rye, New York. If you don’t know Rye, think Stepford Wives with a New York City accent. I’d bet good money there isn’t a single person in Rye, New York, named Huckleberry.
Now I understand why the name annoucement was so long in coming. It took Mom a few days to knock some sense into Paisley.

Congrats Brad And Kim on the birth of your son William.
Love the name. We have a four-year-old we call “Huck” (shortened from Hudson Patrick)
Congrats on you baby William Huckleberry is a different name but it is soooooo cute
Love the name! It would be just like Brad to pick that out.I am a huge fan of yours and I hope he follows in his daddy’s footsteps.
Congratulations! I love the name…did you know Toby Keith sings a song called Huckleberry? It’s mine and my husband’s “song.” God Bless!
Okay, I had William Huckleberry first thank you very much. My son was born in 04, and we named him, sho’ ’nuff, William Huckleberry after my two childhood literary heroes. Yes, I named my kid after Huckleberry Finn, and there is no shame in doing so. We call him “Huck”, and hearing our daughter introduce him as “my Huck” was precious. Huck Finn is as model American as you can get. He struggles with what it means to be an American and discovers that what society has taught him is not right as he gets to know Jim.
Congrats on the birth of your son. Sorry, but I
am not a fan of the name.William Bradley would have been good, but I would have to think of my child carrying the name Huckleberry for life.Just think of all the teasing he’s gonna come upon. Sorry, but that’s my opinion.. I love both you and Kimberly;your singing and Kimberly’s acting. God Bless you three.
I have 3 children who have unique names. I don’t think you could have picked a better name for your son. Brad is my favorite artist, hands down. And Kimberly is one of my favorite actresses. I wish you all the best with your new addition.
